“Protect her”
I sculpted the head and hands in clay before casting them in silicone. This was then hand painted and hair punched. The body is made of upholstery and other recycled foams. Through ‘Protect Her,’ I aimed to reconnect with and safeguard the innocence and vulnerability of my past. This symbolized the start of a healing journey of self-awareness and care, emphasizing the significance of embracing and protecting the child within. It invites viewers to reflect on their own relationships with their past selves and the nurturing they may need to offer to the younger versions of themselves.
